This was in a bathroom in the Stadtpark. It says, "You hate me because I could love you. Against homophobia!" I like it. Most of the graffiti you see here has to do with Nazis. You see lots of swastikas that have since been crossed out by someone else. I had no idea that issue was still so prevalent. Posted by Picasa

Getrud (my flatmate) explaining something about Austria to us, as usual. Posted by Picasa

Jose being silly. Everyone should have a Jose to hang out with. Posted by Picasa

I look like I'm giving someone the stare of death. I'm not sure what that is, but I'm definitely doing it. Posted by Picasa

This is how we amuse ourselves, since obviously no one had room to pack a t.v./movies/cd player/games or anything like that. Posted by Picasa

Not sure what's going on here. Posted by Picasa

Jen was feeling artsy and took a bunch of cool pictures through wine bottles. Posted by Picasa

Close encounter of the third kind. Thanks, Jen. Posted by Picasa

The drink of choice for the evening, thanks to Noel from Ireland: Bailey's Irish Cream. Posted by Picasa

Jose being a goof once again. Silly Spaniard. ; ) Posted by Picasa

A blurry picture from a house party for the students in my intensive German course. L to R: Marcjanna (Poland), Mette (Denmark), and me. Posted by Picasa

The following pictures are from a trip Jen, Tom, and I took with Jen's dad to a local mountain called Schoeckl. Before we left, we stopped at a cafe to get some coffee. Only in Austria would there be a cat sitting on a seat at one of the tables. Posted by Picasa

Does anyone else find these scarecrows ridiculously frightening? If it was a little kid, I would wet my pants for sure. Posted by Picasa

Riding up the mountain in a gondola with Tom and Jen. Posted by Picasa

The hotel at the top of the Shoeckl. Posted by Picasa

There is a Biergarten at the top of literally every mountain. It's both hilarious and wonderful. Posted by Picasa

The landscape at the top of the mountain was really bizarre. We weren't above the treeline, but it was very jagged and rocky. Bright blue and purple flowers were growing everywhere, though. It sort of looked like a cemetery. Posted by Picasa

Here are some of the flowers that were growing all over the place. Posted by Picasa

pretty blue flowers. what are these called? bluebells...? Posted by Picasa

We are definitely in Catholic country. There are lots of crosses and cruficixions everywhere. Posted by Picasa

beautiful. Posted by Picasa

A view from the right... Posted by Picasa

At the top of the mountain, they had a few of these wooden ramps to run off of when you're hangliding. They were really freaking scary. Posted by Picasa

We heard a bunch of cowbells and eventually stumbled upon about 7 or 8 cows just roaming around and grazing. I'm trying to see how close this one will let me get. Posted by Picasa

She turned out to be a total sweetheart. Jen and I named her Bertha. Posted by Picasa
